I’ve heard many people including pastors use this argument in the past to dismiss ideas that they don’t agree with. Being skeptical is good, therefore we should always doubt everything we believe.
This statement is self-defeating, however. Should I doubt that I should doubt everything? Because if I doubt everything, then I should doubt my doubts. As Frank Turek often says “Why are skeptics skeptical of everything except skepticism?” I think it is healthy to go back and reexamine the beliefs we hold, but not to the point we fail to come to a conclusion on something. G.K Chesterton famously quipped ” The point of having an open mind, like an open mouth, is to shut it on something solid.
